Peg + Cat The Polka Dot Planet Problem

Peg + Cat The Polka Dot Planet Problem

Peg + Cat, a PBS KIDS animated preschool series, follows the adorable, spirited Peg and her sidekick Cat as they embark on adventures and learn foundational math concepts and skills. Co-creators Billy Aronson (Rent, Postcards from Buster) and Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) have teamed with The Fred Rogers Company to bring young viewers a new way to experience math through Peg and Cat’s relatable, and often hilarious, adventures.

This presentation of Peg + Cat is part of Move to Include, a partnership between WXXI and the Golisano Foundation designed to  promote inclusion for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Through programming and special events, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life. Meet fashion photographer Rick Guidotti, who now focuses his lens on highlighting the beauty in all of us.

Rick Guidotti has had a career that’s taken him from New York City to Milan and now to Rochester. As a fashion photographer he photographed high fashion models. He’s now focused his lens on highlighting the beauty in all of us. Through his organization, Positive Exposure, Rick spends his time photographing people with genetic differences. In preparation for it’s thirtieth anniversary celebration, The Golisano Foundation brought Rick to the George Eastman House to photograph twenty individuals here in Rochester. WXXI was fortunate to be there to document the process.

Exited

Exited

When young people finish high school, they need to figure out what to do next. Growing up can be a daunting experience for everyone, but for people with disabilities, it can feel like arriving at a cliff.

Exited is a podcast that explores this moment through the experiences of eight young people and their families. It’s about growing up and trying to find a place where you belong — when you’ve been told your whole life that you’re different.

This podcast is from WXXI’s Inclusion Desk, a multi-platform reporting effort to inform and transform attitudes and behavior about inclusion. The Inclusion Desk grew from the Move to Include partnership between WXXI and the Golisano Foundation. Through programming and special events, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life.
